Police have reported signs of violence on the body of a South Korean national (identified as S, 66) found dead and bloodied in Tambun Selatan, Bekasi Regency, West Java. An autopsy is being carried out to determine the cause of death.

“The findings will be concluded during the investigation; the body is currently undergoing autopsy. The exact cause of death will be determined later,” said Tambun Selatan Police Chief Kompol Wuryanti when contacted by reporters on Thursday, 28 May 2026.

Police confirmed signs of violence on the victim’s body, including injuries from both blunt and sharp objects.

“There are clear signs of multiple trauma injuries on the victim’s body,” she added.

“Yes, there are indications of blunt force trauma, and possibly sharp objects as well,” she added.

The victim’s body was discovered on Wednesday (27 May) afternoon by her daughter, who found her deceased.

“The timeline shows she was found by her daughter at 3 PM WIB yesterday in a deceased state,” she said.

The victim was found alone at home, with her body covered in blood when discovered.

“Yes, she was found alone at home. Yes, the body was bloodied,” she confirmed.

The case remains under police investigation, with authorities coordinating with the South Korean Embassy in Jakarta.

“As the victim is a foreign national, police have informed the South Korean Embassy in Jakarta and are proceeding with investigation steps,” she concluded.
