A South Korean national identified as S (66) was found dead and bloodied at his home in South Tambun, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The victim’s body was discovered on Wednesday (27 May) around 3pm WIB by his daughter, who found him deceased. ‘The timeline is yesterday afternoon at 3pm WIB; he was found by his daughter. He was already deceased,’ said Police Commissioner Wuryanti of Tambun Selatan Police Station when contacted by reporters on Thursday (28 May 2026). The victim was found alone in his home. Upon discovery, his body was covered in blood. ‘Yes, the victim was found alone in the house. Yes, he was covered in blood,’ she added. Police reported multiple wounds on the victim’s body, suspected to be caused by sharp and blunt objects. ‘Yes, there were injuries from blunt objects, it is suspected. Yes, both blunt and sharp objects are suspected,’ said Wuryanti. The victim’s body is currently undergoing an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Police noted multiple signs of violent trauma on the body. ‘It will be concluded during the investigation, as the autopsy is ongoing. The exact cause of death will be known later. But it is clear that there are numerous signs of violent trauma on the body,’ she explained. The case of the South Korean national’s death is still under police investigation. Authorities have coordinated with the South Korean Embassy in Jakarta. ‘Police are taking investigative steps; as he is a foreign national, we have coordinated to inform the embassy (South Korea). The embassy is in Jakarta,’ she said. Police are still investigating to uncover the cause of death and determine if there are criminal elements involved in the incident.
