South Korea Scheduled to Sign Agreement to Export 16 Boramae Jets to Indonesia
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEOUL – South Korean President Lee Jae Myung is scheduled to hold a summit meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Seoul on Wednesday (1/4/2026). The two will discuss bilateral relations, with defence industry cooperation expected to be the main agenda.
The meeting between Lee and Prabowo is the second time, following their discussions on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, on 1 November 2025. At this meeting, the talks are expected to focus on expanding defence industry cooperation, particularly joint development of the KF-21 Boramae fighter jet.
Lee described it as a “model example” of global defence cooperation. According to Yonhap, South Korea plans to sign an agreement to export 16 Boramae jets to Indonesia. This will mark the first sale of domestically produced fighter jets abroad.
