South Korea Introduces Visa-Free Travel for Indonesian Tourists Effective Today
South Korea has implemented a visa-free policy for Indonesian group tourists effective today, Thursday, 28 May 2026. The temporary visa exemption has a specified timeframe. What are the full regulations?
According to an official statement from South Korea’s Ministry of Justice, the scheme will run until the end of December 2026. This move follows previous relaxations of visa requirements and entry rules for foreign tourists, following a tourism strategy meeting chaired by President Lee Jae Myung in February 2026.
The South Korean Immigration Service hopes the temporary visa waiver will significantly boost the growth of South Korea’s tourism industry. Local travel agencies are required to register tourist names on the government’s official website within 24 hours before the visitors’ arrival. The Ministry of Justice will review these lists to identify individuals classified as high-risk, including those subject to entry restrictions in South Korea.
