JAKARTA, Cobisnis.com - President Prabowo Subianto met with President Lee Jae Myung at Cheong Wa Dae on 1 April 2026.

During the meeting, Lee emphasised that Indonesia has become a primary investment partner for South Korea. He also assessed that economic relations between the two countries continue to develop rapidly.

Further, Lee highlighted collaboration in electric vehicle production in Indonesia. This project serves as concrete evidence of the partnership between the two countries.

Meanwhile, he assessed that diplomatic relations established for over 50 years form a strong foundation. Therefore, the two countries have significant opportunities to expand cooperation in the future.

On the other hand, President Prabowo welcomed the cooperation. He assessed that economic relations between Indonesia and South Korea need to be continuously strengthened.

According to Prabowo, South Korea has achieved rapid progress in industry and technology. Therefore, Indonesia sees great opportunities to learn and develop together.

Furthermore, Prabowo emphasised Indonesia’s advantages in terms of natural resources and domestic market. Thus, the two countries can complement each other in economic cooperation.
