The South Korean government will provide an additional $3.5 million (approximately Rp63.2 billion) in humanitarian aid to Venezuela due to the severe damage caused by earthquakes, according to the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “Following the previous provision of $5 million in humanitarian aid in response to the humanitarian crisis caused by the recent devastating earthquake in Venezuela, the Government of the Republic of Korea has decided to provide an additional $3.5 million in humanitarian assistance given the expanding scale of the disaster,” the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday (14/7). Of the additional aid, $3 million (approximately Rp54 billion) will be channelled through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to support debris clearance efforts. The remaining $500,000 (approximately Rp9 billion) will be used to provide tents for temporary shelter at the request of the Venezuelan Government.
