South Kalimantan Regional Police Provide Basic Necessities for KM Virgo Victims During Recovery

Banjarmasin (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Regional Police are fulfilling the basic needs of the victims of the KM Virgo Transport 8 vessel during their recovery period at a temporary shelter located at the Kharisma Hotel, Banjarmasin.

“We are ensuring that the basic needs of the victims are met,” stated the South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan, in Banjarmasin on Monday.

He visited the survivors to provide moral support and personally listened to the passengers’ accounts regarding the chronology of the incident.

He stated that his presence was essential to meet the victims directly to help maintain their morale as they navigate their recovery.

Furthermore, he has ordered a trauma healing team, consisting of psychologists from the South Kalimantan Regional Police Human Resources Bureau, to assist in the psychological recovery of the victims.

During this period of assistance, he noted that efforts are being made to ensure optimal trauma recovery so that the victims can return to their normal lives.

“We also aim to reunite them with their families as soon as possible, as meeting their loved ones is the primary wish of the victims,” he added.
