The South Kalimantan Provincial Government is once again providing a free homecoming programme for citizens wishing to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 2026 in their hometowns.

Fitri Hernadi, Head of the South Kalimantan Provincial Transportation Agency, stated on Wednesday (11 March) that this year’s free homecoming programme provides 400 seats for citizens, with destinations covering 11 districts, particularly from Banua Anam to Kotabaru. “This is an annual programme and the government provides approximately 300-400 seats for various destinations,” Fitri said.

Fitri noted that the agency is currently conducting data collection and checking the roadworthiness of transport vehicles to be used to ensure safety and comfort during the homecoming period. “We are inspecting both the vehicle fleet and the drivers to ensure they are healthy and free from narcotics, in cooperation with the National Narcotics Agency and the Health Agency,” Fitri explained.

Registration for the free homecoming programme opened on 9-10 March 2026 online. Participants who have registered are required to re-register on 11 March 2026 at designated locations with their identity cards.

The departure is scheduled from two points: Terminal Kilometre 6 Banjarmasin and the Cooperative and SME Agency area or Murjani Field in Banjarbaru on 14 March 2026 at 08:00 Western Indonesian Time.

The free homecoming programme organised by the South Kalimantan Provincial Government annually receives strong public support.
