South Kalimantan Provincial Government Reinstates Motor Vehicle Tax Incentives
The Provincial Government of South Kalimantan is reintroducing a regional motor vehicle tax incentive programme to commemorate the province’s 76th anniversary. The Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of South Kalimantan also launched TASK (Tax Application of South Kalimantan), a digital service innovation in the form of a regional taxation application.
This regional tax incentive programme aims to ease the burden on the public while encouraging orderly motor vehicle administration. The programme is valid from 14 August to 30 November 2026 and is implemented simultaneously across all regions of South Kalimantan.
The Head of Bapenda South Kalimantan, Subhan Nor Yaumil, stated on Thursday (13/8) during the anniversary commemoration that the programme provides several tax relief measures for motor vehicle owners. “One of the incentives provided is the full exemption of administrative sanctions or principal fines for Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB),” he said.
Additionally, the South Kalimantan Provincial Government is offering a 10 percent discount on the principal PKB for the current year for four-wheeled vehicles or more. Meanwhile, owners of two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles receive a larger discount of 20 percent.
Relief is also granted to residents transferring vehicles from outside the region. Motor vehicles transferred into the region receive a 50 percent discount on the principal PKB for the first year and 50 percent for the second year. Vehicles undergoing intra-regional transfers or name changes receive a 50 percent discount on the principal PKB for the current year. This regional tax incentive programme is the result of collaboration between Bapenda South Kalimantan Province, the Traffic Directorate of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, and PT Jasa Raharja South Kalimantan Branch.
As part of the 76th anniversary commemoration, Bapenda South Kalimantan launched TASK, a digital service innovation in the form of a regional taxation application. This application aims to provide ease, speed, and effectiveness for the people of South Kalimantan in managing and paying their regional tax obligations.
In a separate event, the Governor of South Kalimantan, Muhidin, accompanied by the Deputy Governor and the Provincial Leadership Coordination Forum, inaugurated the Syekh Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjari Grand Mosque at the peak of the anniversary commemoration. This year’s peak commemoration carried the theme “Tugul Maharagu, Bagawi Laju, Banua Maju,” which embodies the spirit of safeguarding achievements, working earnestly and sustainably, and promoting the progress of Banua. Governor Muhiddin emphasised that this year’s anniversary was deliberately held with a more religious and modest approach. The mosque, located within the South Kalimantan Provincial Government office complex, is expected to function not only as a place of worship but also as a religious facility providing broader benefits to the community.
