Banjarbaru (ANTARA) — The South Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Agency (Dishut Kalsel) has proposed nine mangrove planting locations to the Ministry of Forestry, spread across three regencies as a concrete step towards accelerating Indonesia’s FOLU Net Sink 2030 target under the NC 4 category.

“The nine locations are in Tanah Laut, Kotabaru, and Tanah Bumbu regencies, which are the primary targets for coastal rehabilitation this year. We are optimistic this proposal will be swiftly approved by the Ministry of Forestry so that climate action in the regions can be realised promptly,” said the Head of Dishut Kalsel, Fathimatuzzahra, in Banjarbaru on Monday.

She detailed that the targeted locations in Tanah Laut Regency cover the areas of Kurau, Sabuhur, and Kintap. In Kotabaru Regency, the focus is directed at Pulau Laut, encompassing Labuan Mas, Tanjung Seloka, Oka-Oka, and Tanjung Selayar. Meanwhile, for Tanah Bumbu Regency, the target locations are in Setarap and Bunati.

To carry out each activity, Dishut Kalsel emphasised the importance of civil service integrity in supporting this nationally scaled environmental programme.

She stressed that discipline is the primary foundation of any organisation, reflecting integrity, and that consistent administrative order has a direct impact on the quality of programme implementation in the field.
