South Kalimantan Promotes Quality-of-Life-Based Investment, RSUD Ulin as Key Asset
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANJARMASIN – The Governor of South Kalimantan, Muhidin, has stressed that the investment approach in the region must now be more adaptive. According to him, investors no longer consider only regulatory aspects and natural resource potential, but also the quality of the living environment and public services, particularly in the health sector.
The statement was delivered at the Investment Forum and Promotion of Superior Services at RSUD Ulin, South Kalimantan, 2026, in Banjarmasin on Monday. Muhidin said that health services have become a strategic factor in attracting investor interest.
“Investors need guarantees of quality of life for their workforce. This is where the role of health services becomes very strategic,” he stated.
He explained that the presence of RSUD Ulin in Banjarmasin is one of the important elements in building a healthy investment ecosystem in South Kalimantan. This main referral hospital is now continuously transforming by providing high-standard medical services.
Several flagship facilities have been developed, including integrated cardiac services with catheterisation technology, a cancer treatment centre through radiotherapy, and support for modern imaging technology such as CT scans and MRI. In addition, fertility services and various other specialist services are also being strengthened.
Muhidin emphasised that improvements in health services not only impact community welfare but also serve as an important factor in enhancing the region’s investment appeal.
He added that the synergy between investment growth and improved quality of public services is the main key to driving sustainable development in South Kalimantan.
“Investment that grows must bring prosperity, and prosperity cannot be achieved without health. The two are pillars that support each other,” he said.
The South Kalimantan Provincial Government, he continued, is now directing development not only based on the richness of natural resources but also on strengthening the quality of life of the community as part of a sustainable investment strategy.
