South Kalimantan Police Build 11 Boreholes to Improve Public Water Access
Martapura (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Regional Police (Presents Polda Kalsel) are constructing 11 borehole sites across several areas to assist public access to clean water and support food security programmes through the provision of water for agriculture.
“This borehole assistance programme is focused on regions with limited access to clean water or those prone to drought,” stated the South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Dr Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan, in Martapura on Wednesday.
While attending the groundbreaking ceremony for a borehole in RT 01, Limamar Village, Astambul District, Banjar Regency, the Regional Police Chief revealed that the activity is an implementation of the national “Polri Cares for Clean Water” programme, championed by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
Furthermore, the initiative aligns with the National Police’s spirit of service to the community, reflecting their commitment to always be present in meeting the needs and welfare of the people.
The Regional Police Chief expressed hope that all constructed borehole facilities would be maintained, cared for, and utilised optimally by the community to ensure long-term, sustainable benefits.
He also invited all sectors of society to use the momentum of the borehole construction to strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation and cross-sector collaboration to realise a progressive, prosperous, and resilient South Kalimantan.
