South Kalimantan Exports Reach Rp98.20 Trillion in First Half of 2026

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of South Kalimantan recorded that the province’s export value reached approximately Rp98.20 trillion during the first half of 2026, an increase of 14.41 per cent compared to the same period in 2025.

Head of BPS South Kalimantan, Mukhamad Mukhanif, stated on Monday that this achievement was supported by an export value in June 2026 of around Rp18.86 trillion, up 3.86 per cent compared to May 2026 and a 44.47 per cent increase compared to June 2025.

“The mineral fuels group remains South Kalimantan’s largest export commodity, with a value of approximately Rp15.61 trillion, contributing 82.73 per cent to total exports in June 2026,” he said.

He noted that other main commodities included animal or vegetable fats and oils at around Rp2.38 trillion, wood and wood products at around Rp295.16 billion, various chemical products at around Rp232.14 billion, and rubber and rubber goods at around Rp205.29 billion. These five commodity groups cumulatively accounted for 99.23 per cent of South Kalimantan’s total exports in June 2026, thus remaining the main pillars of the region’s foreign trade performance.

He explained that in terms of destination countries, China was the largest export market with a value of around Rp7.53 trillion, followed by Malaysia at around Rp2.46 trillion, Japan at around Rp1.56 trillion, India at around Rp1.40 trillion, and the Philippines at around Rp1.28 trillion. The value of exports to China in June 2026 increased by 8.82 per cent compared to May 2026, while exports to Malaysia and Japan grew by 44.19 per cent and 50.07 per cent respectively. Exports to India fell by 28.81 per cent, while exports to the Philippines rose by 2.11 per cent.

Overall, the export value to the five main destination countries reached around Rp14.24 trillion in June 2026, an increase of 10.43 per cent compared to May 2026. These five countries contributed 75.46 per cent to South Kalimantan’s total exports in June 2026.

Meanwhile, BPS also recorded that South Kalimantan’s import value during the first half of 2026 reached around Rp18.16 trillion, an increase of 33.92 per cent compared to the same period in 2025. “The import value in June 2026 was around Rp3.25 trillion, down 14.23 per cent compared to May 2026, but still up 2.79 per cent compared to June last year,” said Mukhamad Mukhanif.
