Banjarmasin (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Community Sports Health Centre (BKOM) has urged the public to maintain their health, particularly by taking vitamins and wearing masks when engaging in outdoor activities amid poor air quality, to avoid the impacts of forest and land fires (Karhutla).

Head of Services at South Kalimantan BKOM, M. Reno Mirza Samara, said wearing a mask is one of the simple steps the public can take to protect their health.

“For the public, don’t forget to take vitamins and don’t forget to wear a mask. We at BKOM also sometimes distribute masks to the public on the streets,” he said in Banjarbaru on Monday.

He added that BKOM has a stock of masks that can be distributed free of charge to the public as a form of concern for public health.

South Kalimantan BKOM provides indoor sports facilities. These facilities include fitness, zumba, gymnastics, and various other sports activities.

According to Reno, indoor exercise can be an alternative for people who still want to exercise when outdoor air conditions are less favourable.

“Well, it happens that BKOM has fitness and zumba, gymnastics and all sorts. It’s all indoors and, God willing, safer than exercising in open spaces,” said Reno.

The general public can use these sports facilities by coming directly to South Kalimantan BKOM. For fitness services, the fee charged is Rp10,000 per visit, while joining zumba costs Rp20,000 per visit.

Reno mentioned that the fitness and zumba services are open every day to the general public. The available facilities are quite complete and are expected to be able to compete with other fitness centres.

“For fitness, it’s Rp10,000 per visit, and for zumba it’s also Rp20,000 per visit. It’s open every day and it’s for the general public. God willing, our equipment is complete and can compete with other fitness centres,” he said.

Fitness services operate from 09.00 to 21.00 WITA every day. Meanwhile, gymnastics activities are held every day from 08.00 to 10.00 WITA.

With these facilities, South Kalimantan BKOM invites the public to remain active in exercising by choosing activities that suit environmental and health conditions.

“Take care of your health, wear a mask when necessary, take vitamins, and stay active in exercising safely,” said Reno.
