South Jakarta's Labour, Transmigration and Energy Sub-District Office trains 50 residents in cake and pastry skills

South Jakarta Sub-District Labour, Transmigration and Energy Office trained 50 residents in cake and pastry making during the Advanced Independent Labour Training (PTKM) First Batch. Syamwil, Head of the South Jakarta Sub-District Labour, Transmigration and Energy Office, said at the Integrated Child-Friendly Public Space (RPTRA) Taman Gajah in Cipete Selatan Village, Cilandak Sub-District, South Jakarta, on Tuesday: ‘Given the many new innovations in the cake sector, we want participants to keep up with developments in the culinary world.’ He said the training is a continuation for participants who previously attended the initial training stage. ‘The training aims to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills, particularly in cakes, pastries, and the culinary industry,’ he added. ‘The materials covered include cake decorating techniques and product packaging for aesthetic appeal to attract consumers,’ he explained. ‘Today’s participants total 50 people, hailing from 10 sub-districts across South Jakarta,’ Syamwil stated. ‘This activity is very important. Through this training, participants will gain highly beneficial knowledge,’ he said. Meanwhile, Widianingsih, a participant from Pasar Minggu Sub-District, expressed her delight at rejoining the training after previously attending a five-day basic course. ‘Yesterday, I attended the five-day training. When I heard about the advanced course, I signed up and, Alhamdulillah, was able to join again,’ Widianingsih said. She noted that during the one-day session, participants were taught to make sponge cakes with attractive designs using glazing techniques. She also urged other residents, especially housewives with businesses, to take advantage of the government’s free training opportunities. ‘My message to other residents, particularly housewives with businesses, is not to miss out on training opportunities, especially free ones. Time is gold and knowledge is invaluable,’ Widianingsih added.
