South Jakarta Youth Creativity Event Becomes Platform for Student Talent
The South Jakarta City Administration views the 2026 South Jakarta Youth Creativity Event as a platform for channelling student talent. “This event also aims to build collaboration among youths who have a passion for creating,” said Tomy Fudihartono, Assistant for Administration and People’s Welfare of the South Jakarta City Administration, on Friday.
Tomy stated that the activity serves as a space for the younger generation to express their talents, creativity, and innovation while expanding networks and positive collaboration. According to him, the government supports various programmes that can encourage the birth of a creative, innovative, competitive, and character-driven young generation that cares about the social environment.
“Youth are development assets that must continuously be given space to grow, create, and become agents of change,” he said. He further explained that the event is not merely a competition to find winners, but also a space for participants to develop character, boost self-confidence, and broaden their horizons.
Therefore, he urged all participants to showcase their best abilities while upholding the values of sportsmanship, creativity, innovation, discipline, and mutual respect. “I hope that from this event, young talents from South Jakarta will emerge who can excel, not only at the DKI Jakarta provincial level but also nationally, and become role models for future generations,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tomi Ari Sudewo, Head of the Youth Section at the South Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency, explained that the event, which carries the slogan “Anak Kompleks yang Bisa Mengaji dan Bisa Pencak” (Estate Kids Who Can Recite the Quran and Perform Pencak Silat), is being participated in by students and university students. There are seven competition categories being contested: solo vocal, monologue, graphic design, fashion design, band, traditional dance, and modern dance.
“The winners will later represent South Jakarta at a similar event at the DKI Jakarta provincial level. We hope all participants can perform to the best of their abilities,” said Tomi. A total of 240 participants took part in the South Jakarta Youth Creativity Event 2026, which was held at the Bulungan Youth Centre Auditorium in Kramat Pela Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru District.
