South Jakarta Transport Sub-Department Cracks Down on 10 Illegal Parking Attendants at Blok M Square Parking Lot
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The South Jakarta Transport Sub-Department (Sudinhub) has cracked down on 10 illegal parking attendants (jukir) in the Blok M Square parking lot, following a viral video about unofficial parking fee collections.
“There are 10 illegal parking attendants who have been registered,” said the Head of South Jakarta Sudinhub, Bernad Oktavianus Pasaribu, when contacted in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Bernad stated that the enforcement was carried out on Tuesday (31/3) afternoon at 17.00 WIB. In the operation, his team collaborated with Satpol PP and the Parking Management Unit (UP) of Blok M Square.
As a result, the 10 illegal parking attendants were regulated and asked to make statements promising not to engage in illegal collections again. Their initials are MU, S, R, MRB, SA, MI, JS, D, IN, and AF.
The South Jakarta Transport Sub-Department, the Parking Management Unit, and the Blok M Square management will continue to monitor illegal parking attendants in a persuasive and humane manner.
It is hoped that this enforcement will serve as a deterrent to rogue individuals who seek unofficial gains.
“The enforcement was carried out persuasively and humanely towards the illegal parking attendants in the Blok M Square area, and they promised not to repeat it,” he said.
The incident went viral on Instagram social media, showing a resident protesting the illegal parking collection, which forced them to pay parking fees twice in the Blok M Square area.
