South Jakarta Transport Office on Alert for Potential Illegal Levies at Rasuna Said CFD

The South Jakarta Transport Office (Dishub) is anticipating potential illegal levies and traffic disturbances during the implementation of Car Free Day (CFD) in the Jalan HR Rasuna Said area.

Bernad Pasaribu, Head of the South Jakarta Transport Office, stated that one of the primary areas of concern is Zone 2, specifically the Jalan Pedurenan and Perbanas areas, which have shown indications of being prone to illegal parking practices.

“In Zone 2, specifically on Jalan Pedurenan and Perbanas, potential illegal parking levies have been identified in parking pockets,” Bernad said when contacted in Jakarta on Monday (18/5/2026).

Furthermore, a number of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles have still been observed passing through the CFD area and parking on the roadside, causing traffic congestion. To address this, the South Jakarta Transport Office recommends adding barriers at several points, particularly along Jalan Pedurenan and Perbanas, to restrict access for unauthorised vehicles.

Additionally, the Transport Office will strengthen coordination with the South Jakarta Parking Management Unit to monitor parking areas around the CFD location. “Cross-sector coordination needs to be increased for the supervision of parking pockets,” he added.

This situation is deemed to require special regulation as it involves national vital areas and office districts. “Special access regulation for national vital areas and offices, as well as the enforcement of roadside parking regulations, needs to be strengthened on regular routes around the CFD,” said Bernad.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, confirmed that CFD in the Rasuna Said area will officially commence on 1 June 2026, following the confirmation that all supporting facilities are ready.
