South Jakarta Transport Agency Cracks Down on Illegal Parking in Kebayoran Lama

The South Jakarta Transportation Agency (Sudinhub) has taken action against illegally parked motorcycles and unauthorised parking attendants in the Cipulir Market and Gandaria City areas, Kebayoran Lama district, in an effort to create a deterrent effect for violators. “The seizure of motor vehicles parked illegally and the enforcement against illegal parking attendants are carried out to provide a deterrent effect so they no longer use public facilities for parking and cause congestion,” said South Jakarta Transportation Agency Operational Controller Ebenezer Lumban Tobing on Friday. Ebenezer stated that the operation was conducted on a massive scale in accordance with leadership directives, aiming to provide a sense of safety and comfort for road users and those utilising public facilities. He explained that the seizure operation, carried out by approximately 30 joint personnel from the South Jakarta Transportation Agency, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), successfully netted 14 illegally parked motorcycles and two illegal parking attendants in the Cipulir Market and Gandaria City areas. “We immediately impounded the vehicles and issued warning letters to the parking attendants so they do not repeat similar activities,” he said. He therefore urged vehicle users to be prudent when driving, observe traffic signs, and prioritise safety, as public facilities are not private property but belong to the community and must be safeguarded. “Hopefully, with our routine enforcement, everyone will become more aware of city tidiness, one aspect of which is not parking illegally,” he added. The South Jakarta Transportation Agency recorded a total of 1,337 enforcement actions against traffic violations from January to May 2026 in the region. The enforcement was carried out through traffic monitoring and control operations to establish order and reduce vehicle violations on public roads.
