South Jakarta to set up subsidised housing administration posts
Jakarta (ANTARA) - South Jakarta Mayor Syafrin Liputo said his administration will set up subsidised housing administration posts at district and urban village level to ease data verification for the distribution of the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP), ensuring it reaches all individual housing service providers (PJLP) across South Jakarta accurately.
He expressed appreciation to BP Tapera for providing relief through the FLPP scheme, which gives all PJLP the opportunity to obtain housing through FLPP financing, with additional support from Bank Jakarta.
“Therefore, we will establish posts in all 10 districts and 65 urban villages to facilitate the data verification needed so that FLPP distribution can be precisely targeted to all PJLP within the South Jakarta Administrative City,” he said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He also thanked the President of Indonesia and the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) for the Three Million Homes Programme for PJLP in South Jakarta, the first step of which will see around 210 people in the Tanah Kusir area receive the housing financing liquidity facility.
“Therefore, we hope it will not stop at 210 people, but that all PJLP within the South Jakarta Government area receive the facility — there are around 5,000 more people. And of course we will fully support this,” he said.
Syafrin is confident that given all the housing challenges in Jakarta, such as steadily rising prices, subsidised facilities are essential.
“We hope our joint efforts can be realised before too long. With the Three Million Homes Programme, the target is that by 2029 all PJLP will own their own homes,” he said.
He further stated that the regional government has issued instructions and is ready to support the initiative.
For context, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) has said the housing sector is one of the national development priorities, with wide-ranging effects on improving public welfare.
According to him, collaboration across ministries, regional governments, financing institutions and the private sector is key to accelerating the provision of quality, affordable housing.
He stressed that the housing programme is not merely about building houses, but about building hope, improving people’s quality of life, and strengthening the foundations of inclusive and sustainable development.
