The South Jakarta Sub-District Office for Food Security, Marine and Agriculture (Sudin KPKP Jaksel) confirms stable prices for sacrificial animals ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah.

“Sales monitoring so far remains stable, though there is a slight average price increase,” said Ridho Sosro Yudyantoro, Head of South Jakarta Sub-District Office for Food Security, Marine and Agriculture, when contacted on Monday in Jakarta.

Sales of sacrificial animals are proceeding normally despite minor price increases, he added.

“Factors influencing the price rise include livestock availability, hot weather, and limited feed supply in the animals’ regions of origin,” he explained.

“Due to livestock availability, hot weather, and limited feed in the source regions, which also affects selling prices,” Ridho said.

However, he confirmed that overall sales conditions remain stable.

“So far, it’s still standard, stable overall,” he said.

He noted that the number of sacrificial animals this year is similar to last year, though there are differences in the types of cattle sold.

Available breeds include Limousin, PO, Brahman, Bali, and Simental, with the heaviest weighing up to one tonne.

Prices vary depending on breed and size.

“It depends on the breed class, super or type five. It also depends on the cattle; some go over Rp100 million, others around Rp90 million,” said Widi.

Previously, Sudin KPKP Jaksel inspected 18,575 sacrificial animals over the week leading up to Eid al-Adha. The checks covered religious compliance and physical health to ensure animals were free from contagious diseases or zoonoses and produced halal, safe, healthy, and wholesome (ASUH) meat.
