Jakarta (ANTARA) – The South Jakarta Social Service Office (Sudinsos Jaksel) is still caring for a male infant found near the entrance to Tarakanita I Elementary School, Jalan Barito II No. 54 RT 02/04, Kramat Pela, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (4/3) because he appeared jaundiced.

‘The baby boy remains under medical treatment at Kebayoran Baru General Hospital because when found he was jaundiced,’ said the Head of Sudinsos Jakarta Selatan, Bernard Tambunan, contacted in Jakarta on Friday.

Bernard said the government would ensure assistance by placing the baby under medical care.

He explained that after the condition of the baby is declared healthy by the medical team, they will take the baby to a social welfare home for early childhood.

He added that placing the baby in a social welfare home also opens up opportunities for members of the public who wish to adopt, in accordance with the applicable procedures.
