South Jakarta Social Agency Reaches 644 Welfare Recipients by August 2026

The South Jakarta Social Sub-agency has recorded reaching 644 Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) from January to 4 August 2026 as part of efforts to address social issues in the area. “The total number of individuals reached by officers up to 4 August 2026 is 644,” said Yan Vetansyah, Head of the Social Protection, Security, and Rehabilitation Section of the South Jakarta Social Sub-agency, on Wednesday.

Based on data from the South Jakarta Social Sub-agency, the largest group reached was beggars, totalling 149 people. This was followed by 109 neglected elderly individuals, 89 people in the general neglected category, and 82 homeless individuals.

Additionally, officers reached 52 scavengers, 40 people with mental disabilities, 39 buskers, nine street children, nine illegal parking attendants, eight neglected children, three neglected toddlers, three people with disabilities, and two hawkers.

“In addition to PPKS, the South Jakarta Social Sub-agency also recorded 50 people reached who fall into the non-PPKS category,” he said.

This outreach is part of social services provided to communities requiring further handling and assessment according to their respective conditions. The outreach data serves as a basis for the regional government in formulating social handling and service measures, whether through social rehabilitation, social protection, or referrals to relevant agencies based on the needs of the service recipients. The South Jakarta Social Sub-agency continues to conduct outreach to PPKS across various areas to ensure that those in need can receive targeted social services.
