The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) has received a report from a resident identified by the initials AU regarding the construction of a padel court in the Kebayoran Lama area of South Jakarta. AU filed the complaint after being disturbed by construction work that continued late into the night.

Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Division Chief Commissioner Budi Hermanto explained that the report, registered under number LP/B/863/I/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA, names two parties: A, the Project Manager of PT PK, and S from PT PPS. The report was filed on Monday, 2 February.

“On 2 February 2026, [the report concerns] alleged criminal disturbance of neighbourhood peace resulting from the construction of a padel court in the Kebayoran Lama area, under the suspicion of Article 265 of the Criminal Code,” Budi told reporters on Tuesday, 24 February 2026.

Budi said the complainant stated in the report that on 25 December 2025, a padel court construction project managed by PT PK had commenced in front of their residence. The complainant claimed to have been disturbed because the project was being carried out until late at night.

“The project work was being conducted until late at night,” Budi said.

He explained that the complainant had already written to the local village head (lurah) and mediation had been attempted. However, the construction project continued operating at night, even until the early morning prayer hours (Subuh), thereby disturbing the peace of the neighbourhood.

“As a result of these events, the complainant felt aggrieved. The complainant subsequently came to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Integrated Service Centre (SPKT) to file a report for investigation and inquiry,” he said.

Budi stated that the Jakarta Metropolitan Police has referred the report to the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polres Metro Jakarta Selatan), which will handle the subsequent proceedings.

“The Jakarta Metropolitan Police has delegated the handling of this case to the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police for further processing,” he added.
