South Jakarta provides vehicle storage facilities for residents travelling home for Eid
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The South Jakarta Administrative City Government is providing vehicle storage facilities for residents’ vehicles during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holidays for those travelling home. “The South Jakarta Administrative City Government is providing vehicle storage facilities at the Mayor’s Office, Sub-districts, and Villages for residents travelling home using public transport,” said South Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar when contacted in Jakarta on Thursday. Anwar stated that this vehicle storage aims to ensure that vehicles remain safe while left unattended. Additionally, they are reminding residents to ensure their left-behind homes are secure, such as turning off unused electricity and stoves, and coordinating with RT/RW or neighbouring areas. “We have urged all South Jakarta residents who will be travelling home for Eid Lebaran through the sub-district heads and village heads to prepare their journeys well and prioritise safety,” he said. The South Jakarta Administrative City Government (Jaksel) is also reminding the public who will be travelling home to turn off electricity and stoves in their homes before heading to their hometowns. “Residents are expected to ensure that all electrical appliances have been unplugged and stoves are off or non-functional to avoid fire risks,” he said. Specifically for civil servants (ASN), it is emphasised that official vehicles should not be used for Eid Lebaran travel activities. In line with directives from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, the public is urged to maintain order, security, and manage return traffic times to avoid congestion. “Safe travels home, may the journey be safe, smooth, and return to Jakarta in good health,” he said.
