South Jakarta PPAPP handles 66 cases of violence against women
The South Jakarta Sub-department for Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) handled 66 reported cases of violence during the April-May 2026 period.
“This also reflects the increasing awareness of the community to report incidents, as well as trust in the available protection services,” said the Head of South Jakarta PPAPP, Rizky Hamid, when contacted in Jakarta on Monday.
Rizky stated that the number of reports received increased from 29 cases in April to 37 cases in May 2026. This increase indicates that more cases are being successfully uncovered and addressed.
He explained that of the cases handled during April-May 2026, 23 cases involved children and women. Furthermore, eight cases involved boys and 35 cases involved adult women.
From all the reports handled, Rizky continued, domestic violence (KDRT) against women was the most frequently recorded category, with psychological violence being the most commonly reported type of abuse.
“Every report received is an important step in ensuring that victims obtain protection, assistance, and access to justice,” he said.
The Integrated Child-Friendly Public Space (RPTRA) complaint posts served as the primary channel for community reports, accounting for 50 of the total cases.
Members of the public who encounter suspected violence, exploitation, or human trafficking can use official reporting channels, including the Jakarta Siaga 112 service, the UPT PPA hotline at 0813-1761-7622, or the complaint and case handling posts available in sub-districts and the nearest RPTRA.
