South Jakarta Police to Hold 100-Metre Dash for Youth, Here's How to Register
The South Jakarta Metropolitan Police will hold a 100-metre dash on Jalan Bintaro Taman Barat, Pesanggrahan District, on Saturday night, 7 March 2026. The event is targeted at around 200 participants, mainly youths. Pesanggrahan Police Sector Chief, Commissioner Seala Syah Alam, said the activity aims to provide a positive space for the younger generation, particularly those who frequently gather at night. ‘We are aiming for about 200 participants,’ Seala Syah Alam told reporters on Thursday, 5 March 2026. He explained that the age category was deliberately aimed at teenagers and young adults who often become involved in fights at night. Initially, the 19–25-year-old category was not included in the plans. However, police recently detained a university student in a brawl case, and authorities added this age group. As a result, the police believe this group should also be given a channel to channel their energy through more positive activities. ‘But because last night, Sunday night, we detained a student, we added the 19–25 year-old age group,’ Seala said. Registration will be opened on-site during the event. ‘Yes, so registration is on the spot,’ Seala added. In this race, participants are allowed to choose to wear footwear or to run barefoot. The event is also set to be attended by the South Jakarta Police Chief, the South Jakarta Mayor, and a guest star.
