South Jakarta Police Summon Contractor to Investigate Toddler's Death in Tebet Project Hole

South Jakarta Metro Police have summoned the contractor and are examining a number of witnesses to investigate the death of a toddler, identified as I, 4, who fell into a hole at a multifunctional field construction project in the Manggarai area, Tebet, South Jakarta. “At the time of the incident, we summoned relevant parties, both from the project and witnesses,” said Tebet Police Chief AKP Ischak in Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6). The Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the South Jakarta Metro Police is investigating whether there was an element of negligence in the case of the toddler falling into the Tebet project hole. The project hole in Tebet was planned to serve as a building foundation for a futsal pitch. The hole has now been backfilled to prevent such an incident from happening again. Police have also sealed off the crime scene for further investigation. The toddler, I, 4, died after falling into the project hole. The evacuation process took approximately four hours. The victim was still alive after being rescued but passed away en route to the hospital.
