Jakarta, Kompas.com – The South Jakarta Police have reactivated Community Security Patrols (Satkamling) to prevent crime and criminal activity in South Jakarta ahead of Eid 2026.

The South Jakarta Police Chief, Senior Police Commissioner I Putu Yuni, stated that this preventative measure involves engaging various elements of society, including civic organisations and motorcycle taxi drivers.

“We have a system and communication method through our posts; we are reactivating the Satkamling posts,” explained Putu at South Jakarta Police Headquarters on Thursday (26 February 2026).

The involvement of civic organisations and motorcycle taxi drivers stems from their deep familiarity with their respective areas, particularly as residents begin to leave their homes to visit their hometowns ahead of Eid.

“This is what we need to implement – let us jointly protect our environment and guard vacant homes together to prevent crime, theft, and other criminal activities,” Putu clarified.
