JAKARTA – A total of 13 churches in South Jakarta are receiving additional security from South Jakarta Police personnel from Thursday (2 April 2026) to Sunday (5 April 2026).

The Head of Operations at South Jakarta Police, AKBP Tribuana Roseno, stated that the security measures are implemented with varying durations and involve a total of 134 personnel.

“At Gereja Santa Perawan Maria Ratu, with 3,000 worshippers, there are 15 personnel,” said Seno to Kompas.com on Thursday.

The same number of personnel is also deployed at Gereja Katolik Fransiskus Asisi Paroki in Tebet, which is expected to be attended by 2,000 worshippers.

Meanwhile, Gereja Protestan Indonesia Barat (GPIB) Effata in Kebayoran Baru; Gereja Bukit Moria in Tebet; and Gereja Katolik Paroki Keluarga Kudus in Pasar Minggu are each guarded by eight personnel.

In addition, Metro Jaya Police are deploying 4,500 personnel for security at other churches and crowded locations.

“This is to ensure that the congregation can carry out their worship without disturbance during the celebration,” said Budi on Thursday.

Budi added that the public is urged to report any incidents disrupting the worship via the 110 service for immediate follow-up.
