South Jakarta Police Conduct Security Simulation, Alluding to Anticipation of Global Issues' Impact
JAKARTA — Personnel from the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Resort held a security simulation at the headquarters around the South Jakarta Police Station on Tuesday (7/4/2026). The activity was carried out as a precautionary step against potential security disturbances, including scenarios for handling protests up to managing victims in the field. During the simulation, Jalan Wijaya II up to the junction of Jalan Darmawangsa VI was temporarily closed. Several individuals staged a protest action on the road. At the entrance gate, a line of police stood ready, fully equipped with security gear. The Head of Operations Section (Kabagops) of the South Jakarta Police Resort, AKBP Tribuana Roseno, stated that the simulation was conducted as a form of anticipation against security disturbances or potential terror threats. “Considering the issues currently circulating, such as the war in America and also in Israel and with Iran. Well, we’re afraid it might impact us, so we’ve already anticipated it,” Seno explained to reporters after the simulation on Tuesday. According to Seno, community organisations will also be involved in security efforts if disturbances to public order and security (kamtibmas) occur. During the simulation process, a police officer appeared to fall. His colleague then assisted by removing the gear used to make the victim more comfortable. Subsequently, the officer was taken into the South Jakarta Police Station area towards the ambulance that had been prepared. “That’s part of the simulation. The medical unit is also there to anticipate casualties, whether from police personnel or protesters,” Seno said.
