Busting the Distribution of 2,700 ‘Marvel’ Ecstasy Pills Police arrested two suspects with initials MI and R, along with evidence of 2,700 ecstasy pills. The two were apprehended while suspected of conducting a drug transaction. “South Jakarta Metropolitan Police through the Narcotics Unit successfully uncovered a case of ecstasy trafficking by arresting two suspects with initials MI and R,” said South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Comb. I Putu Yuni Setiawan on Wednesday (15/4/2026). Police arrested the two suspects on Jalan Mayor Madmuin Hasibuan, Marga Jaya Ward, South Bekasi, Bekasi City on Friday (27/3) around 10:00 PM WIB. Thousands of ecstasy pills were seized from MI and R. “The evidence secured consists of 2,700 pink and blue ecstasy pills with the Marvel logo,” Putu revealed. Meanwhile, the Head of the Narcotics Unit of South Jakarta Metropolitan Police AKBP Prasetyo Nugroho explained that the uncovering of this case resulted from cooperation with Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs. The two ecstasy distributors are suspected to be part of an international network. The ecstasy evidence is believed to originate from France. The case was uncovered through cooperation between South Jakarta Metropolitan Police and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs. “We collaborated with Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs because this is suspected to be a France-Jakarta international network,” said Prasetyo. The two suspects have been designated as defendants and are detained at the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Detention Centre. The suspects face imprisonment of five to 10 years. Eradicating Illegal Hard Drugs After dismantling the ‘Marvel’ ecstasy distribution, the Narcotics Unit of South Jakarta Metropolitan Police uncovered the practice of selling hard drugs. Three suspects with initials MJ, MI, and MRA were arrested at three different locations. South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Comb. I Putu Yuni Setiawan stated that the suspects disguised the sale of hard drugs by operating grocery stores. The three were arrested in the Kebagusan, Kemang, and Cilandak areas. “Information was received from local residents that at the above crime scenes, there was a grocery store that, besides selling groceries and daily necessities, also sold and distributed dangerous drugs or psychotropics,” said Putu. Meanwhile, the Head of the Narcotics Unit of South Jakarta Metropolitan Police AKBP Prasetyo Nugroho stated that the hard drugs were sold to various groups. He said that most buyers of the psychotropics were construction workers. “Those who frequently visit to buy at that grocery store are ordinary people, usually working as construction labourers,” Prasetyo explained. From this case, police seized 8,286 hard drug pills of various brands and some cash suspected to be proceeds from sales. Currently, the three suspects have been designated as defendants and are detained at the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Detention Centre. The suspects face a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.
