South Jakarta Police Arrest Serial Shoe Thief Targeting Radio Dalam Boarding House

The Kebayoran Baru Police have apprehended a man for a series of thefts that unsettled residents of a boarding house on Jalan Radio Dalam Antena 2, Gandaria Utara, South Jakarta. The suspect was arrested on Monday evening (20/7) after a witness reported his presence near the crime scene to the police’s operational team. Officers responded immediately and detained the man without resistance before taking him to the Kebayoran Baru Police headquarters for further questioning.

The theft occurred in the early hours of Monday, 13 July, when the suspect allegedly entered the boarding house and stole several pairs of shoes belonging to the residents. The incident was captured on the property’s CCTV, and the footage subsequently went viral on social media, showing the suspect walking through the hallway and taking the footwear. The victim filed an official police report, registered under number LP/B/239/VII/2026/SEKTRO KEB BARU/POLRES METRO JAKARTA SELATAN/POLDA METRO JAYA, dated 20 July 2026.

During the arrest, officers seized a green tote bag, a black Eiger brand bag, and a brown wallet containing the suspect’s identification card. Police have also interviewed witnesses and are continuing the investigation in accordance with legal procedures. The suspect is being charged under Article 476 of the Indonesian Criminal Code for ordinary theft.
