South Jakarta PMI Introduces First Aid in 38 Schools During MPLS

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of South Jakarta is introducing first aid at 38 schools during the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) 2026, held from 15 to 17 July.

“Most schools have requested ambulance demonstrations as an extracurricular showcase,” said the Chairperson of PMI South Jakarta, Mundari, in Jakarta on Friday.

He said the activity forms part of the organisation’s efforts to introduce the importance of first aid to students from an early age.

In its implementation, PMI presented ambulance demonstrations along with socialisation on first aid handling.

“Through PMI’s activities during this MPLS, it is hoped that students will become more enthusiastic about school and possess first aid knowledge from an early age,” said Mundari.

Through these educational activities, PMI South Jakarta seeks to build students’ awareness of the importance of a healthy living culture, maintaining safety, and upholding humanitarian values from the moment they enter the school environment.

“Through this activity, we also want to introduce the Youth Red Cross (PMR) to the students,” added Mundari.
