Jakarta (ANTARA) - The South Jakarta Office of Tourism and Creative Economy (Sudin Parekraf) organised the ‘Ramadan Journey in the South’ to introduce tourism destinations and several historic mosques in the area during the Ramadan month. ‘This activity is an introduction to tourist destinations in South Jakarta by exploring a district through its historical narrative, origins of the area, and architectural development,’ said Jonie Paulus Rumimper, head of the South Jakarta Office of Tourism and Creative Economy, when contacted in Jakarta on Friday. He said the activity is a destination-promotion programme packaged as a district tour with the SANA Kenal Kota community. The activity will be attended by around 40 participants from the public, community organisations, as well as city government and the media. ‘Participants will be invited to visit several locations, including Masjid Al Huriyyah in Pasar Minggu, Masjid Al Kautsar in the LPPI Kemang area, and Masjid Al Karomah in Cipete,’ Jonie explained. He said the activity will not be entirely done on foot because the distances between locations are quite far, so much of the mobility will be by bus. ‘The concept remains a walking tour to explore the area, but not entirely on foot because there will be inter-location mobility by bus,’ Jonie added. The activity will take place on Saturday, 14 March 2026, from 13:00 to 19:00 WIB, starting from the South Jakarta City Hall courtyard as the gathering point. In addition to visiting several locations, participants will also take part in a breaking of the fast together and an evening meal and networking session. The activity is also expected to introduce the potential of destinations in South Jakarta and promote regional tourism through the role of the media and community.
