The South Jakarta Municipal Government (Pemkot Jaksel) will seal the Fourthwall padel court in the Cilandak area, South Jakarta, following complaints about noise disturbance. The sealing will take place on the morning of 3 March 2026.

“Yes, tomorrow (sealing) around 10:00 WIB,” said Andy Lazuardy, Head of the Sub-office for Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land (Citata) South Jakarta, when confirmed in Jakarta according to Antara news agency on Monday (2 March 2026).

Andy stated that the sealing is being carried out because the building lacks building construction approval (PBG). Without PBG, he explained, the building is deemed not to meet applicable administrative regulations.

“Without PBG, the building has not met the applicable building administration regulations,” he said.

Meanwhile, Fourthwall Management representative Fajar Edi Putra acknowledged that his company has not yet obtained PBG. However, the company submitted its application in August 2025, before construction of the court began.

“According to the latest information, our PBG permit has not yet been issued,” said Fajar.

Previously, residents in the Haji Nawi area of Cilandak, South Jakarta, complained about noise generated from the padel court operations. One resident named Idham noted that the noise penetrated into bedrooms.

“The noise comes from each friction between racket and ball, and then from the ball bouncing off the glass, court floor, or frequently hitting the walls of our houses. These bounces echo and reverberate around our homes,” said Idham when contacted on Friday (20 February).

“In our yard, in our bedrooms, in our children’s rooms, in the living room, in every corner of our house,” he added.

Idham also mentioned that noise comes from shouts of padel players. He described the noise level as high due to the ball bouncing off glass panels.

The South Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) had previously stated it would take action against the padel court building on Jalan Haji Nawi, Cilandak, South Jakarta, due to the lack of official permits.

Enforcement action against the padel court will be carried out by an integrated team after receiving recommendations from the South Jakarta Sub-office for Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land (Citata).

Based on discussions by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government regarding padel courts, new permits for padel court construction are not allowed in residential zones. Currently, new padel court construction must be conducted in commercial zones.

Padel courts without PBG will face sanctions ranging from cessation of operations, demolition, to revocation of business permits.

Padel courts that have PBG but are located in residential areas are advised to negotiate with the city mayor and relevant agencies, with operational time limits imposed. Additionally, all padel courts in residential areas, even with PBG approval, may only operate until 20:00 WIB at the latest.

Furthermore, if a padel court generates noise from bouncing balls or player shouts that disturb the community, it must be soundproofed.
