South Jakarta KPKP Agency Vaccinates 1,454 Animals Against Rabies in June

The South Jakarta Food Security, Marine and Agriculture Agency (Sudin KPKP) vaccinated 1,454 rabies-transmitting animals (HPR) during June 2026. The free vaccination service was conducted across nine sub-districts, with cats making up the majority of the animals treated, totalling 1,338, alongside dogs, monkeys, and ferrets.

Kepala Seksi Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan Sudin KPKP Jakarta Selatan, Irawati Harry Artharini, stated that the programme utilised a proactive outreach system, visiting community environments and sub-district offices. She emphasised that the rabies vaccination is a crucial step to prevent the transmission of the disease from animals to humans.

The initiative is part of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment to maintaining its rabies-free status. Irawati encouraged pet owners to take advantage of the free service to ensure their animals remain healthy and protected, noting that schedules and locations are available on the agency’s official Instagram account. The South Jakarta Administration has set a target to vaccinate 10,200 rabies-transmitting animals throughout 2026.
