South Jakarta Immigration Office Promotes Information Transparency and Public Communication

The South Jakarta Class I Special Non-TPI Immigration Office is enhancing the journalistic and public relations capacities of its employees. This move is intended to strengthen information transparency and the quality of public communication with the community.

Daud Satrya Bhirawa, Head of the Immigration Information Technology and Communication Division at the South Jakarta Immigration Office, stated that information transparency is a vital factor in building public trust in government institutions, especially amidst the high flow of digital information.

“The public relations function is one of the key elements in building and maintaining public trust in an institution. Therefore, good communication skills must be continuously strengthened,” said Daud during a capacity-building session for public relations and journalism at the South Jakarta Immigration Office on Thursday (11/06/2026).

According to Daud, the public has the right to obtain clear, accurate, and easily understandable information regarding the various services and policies implemented by the institution. Consequently, the ability to manage information and public communication needs constant improvement.

“A positive image must be built through accurate and open information. The community deserves clear information regarding the various services and policies carried out by the institution,” he added.

Daud further noted that every employee plays a role in maintaining public trust, as they represent the institution when providing services or interacting with the public.

“Every immigration officer is the face of the organisation. Their attitude, behaviour, and way of communicating will influence public trust in the institution,” he said.

The programme, held in collaboration with the media outlet Voice Indonesia, covered public communication strategies, information management, news writing techniques, and the strengthening of public relations capacity to face the dynamics of issues in the digital space.

Government public relations must adapt to media developments and the speed of information dissemination. The ability to convey information using a journalistic approach is a critical necessity in contemporary public communication.

Through this activity, South Jakarta Immigration hopes that the quality of information delivery to the public will continue to improve, thereby supporting public services that are transparent, responsive, and accountable.
