South Jakarta Immigration Office Promotes Information Transparency and Public Communication
The Class I Special Non-TPI Immigration Office of South Jakarta is increasing its employees’ journalistic and public relations capacity to strengthen information transparency and the quality of public communication. Daud Satrya Bhirawa, Head of the Immigration Information and Communication Technology Division at the South Jakarta Immigration Office, stated that information transparency is an important factor in building public trust in government institutions, particularly amidst the high flow of digital information. ‘The public relations function is one of the main keys to building and maintaining public trust in the institution. Therefore, good communication skills must be continuously strengthened,’ Daud said during the public relations and journalistic capacity-building activity at the South Jakarta Immigration Office on Thursday (11/6/2026). According to Daud, the public has the right to obtain clear, accurate, and easy-to-understand information regarding the various services and policies implemented by the institution. He added that a positive image must be built through accurate and open information. ‘Every immigration officer is the face of the organisation. Attitudes, behaviour, and communication methods will influence public trust in the institution,’ he said. The activity, conducted in partnership with Voice Indonesia, discussed public communication strategies, information management, news writing techniques, and strengthening the capacity of public relations in dealing with the dynamics of issues in the digital space. Government public relations need to adapt to media developments and the speed of information dissemination. Through this activity, the South Jakarta Immigration Office hopes that the quality of information delivery to the public will improve, thereby supporting transparent, responsive, and accountable public services.
