South Jakarta Government Hopes PMI Clinic Renovation Improves Public Health Access
The South Jakarta Administrative City Government (Pemkot Jaksel) hopes the renovated PMI Pratama Medical Center will further ease public access to healthcare.
South Jakarta Mayor Syafrin Liputo stated during the inauguration on Tuesday that the renovation of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) South Jakarta clinic is a concrete step to deliver higher quality, more comfortable, modern, representative, and friendly health services. He noted the renovation aims to expand health services and is part of the 499th anniversary celebrations of DKI Jakarta.
The clinic operates daily for 12 hours, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Western Indonesia Time, supported by two medical staff and a general practitioner ready to serve the community. Facilities include a lactation room for breastfeeding mothers, a doctor’s treatment room, an emergency room, and an administration room. The clinic also provides health checks without patient quotas, allowing the public to access services as needed. In addition to general health services, free circumcision is available with a voluntary or ‘ikhlas’ payment system.
“The progress of Jakarta is not only measured by infrastructure development and other facilities, but also by how public services are continuously improved,” said the Mayor.
Meanwhile, PMI South Jakarta Chairperson Mundari mentioned that the clinic’s inauguration was accompanied by a dignified corpse management training attended by 65 participants over two days, on 23-24 June 2026. The training is expected to enhance knowledge, skills, and ethics, as well as strengthen PMI’s preparedness in providing humanitarian services. Participants included PMI volunteers, members of the general public, and other related elements concerned with humanitarian service.
