The South Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Agency (Dukcapil) has recorded that 654,121 residents have activated their Digital Population Identity (IKD). “To date, 654,121 South Jakarta residents have activated IKD, reaching 38.04 per cent of the total 1,719,678 residents who hold electronic ID cards in the area,” said South Jakarta Dukcapil Head Salimin on Friday. Salimin explained that this achievement is higher than the DKI Jakarta provincial average. Out of a total of 8,066,762 mandatory electronic ID card holders in DKI Jakarta, 2,954,238 residents, or 36.62 per cent, have completed IKD activation. He stated that internally there are no obstacles in the implementation, and his agency is becoming increasingly aggressive and extensive in providing services at sub-district, district, and agency service counters. The IKD activation service can be registered through offices at the sub-district and district levels, as well as through mobile outreach services to residential areas and schools. South Jakarta Dukcapil has coordinated with various parties to streamline mobile outreach services in schools within its jurisdiction. “There are several service reports from colleagues at the sub-district and district levels who are conducting mobile outreach to bring services closer to the community,” he said. Salimin considers IKD activation to be crucial in line with the transformation of population administration services towards a digital system. Furthermore, DKI Jakarta Dukcapil is designing a digital service ecosystem with the concept of ‘Dukcapil in the Palm of Your Hand’ through the Alpukat Betawi application, which makes IKD the main gateway to access various population services. “As a global and cultured city, IKD activation is very important. For the highly mobile residents of Jakarta, the existence of IKD will certainly be very helpful,” said Salimin.
