South Jakarta Dishub nets dozens of motorcycles parked illegally in Setiabudi
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The South Jakarta Transportation Agency (Suku Dinas Perhubungan Jakarta Selatan, Dishub Jaksel) towed 21 motorcycles that were parked illegally on Jalan Prof Doktor Satrio, Kelurahan Karet Kuningan, Kecamatan Setiabudi. “Even what we regret is that the facilities are not able to be used by pedestrians because they are blocked by illegal parking,” said Bernad Oktavianus Pasaribu, Head of the South Jakarta Transportation Agency, in Jakarta on Tuesday. Bernad said the towing operation was carried out to deter residents who park illegally, blocking sidewalks and causing congestion. He explained the towing operation, conducted by approximately 30 joint personnel consisting of Sudinhub Jaksel, TNI and Polri, successfully covered 21 vehicles parked illegally. “Our vehicles were immediately towed using a truck, to then be given BAP tilang (administrative report) to the relevant party,” he said. Bernad urged private vehicle users to be prudent in driving. “Pay attention to the signs and ensure safety, because public facilities are not owned by individuals but by the community as a whole that must be maintained,” he added. He urged the public as road users to comply with the rules and not park their vehicles indiscriminately. The towing action is also carried out if there is a request from the district level that finds vehicles parked haphazardly and violating the rules. This enforcement is carried out based on DKI Regulation Number 8 of 2007 on Public Order.
