South Jakarta Dekranasda helps 40 MSMEs promote their products
The South Jakarta Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda) is helping 40 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) promote their products as part of efforts to stimulate economic activity.
“There are three main objectives of this activity: to open promotional space for MSME works, to improve marketing so that artisans’ products become widely known to residents, and to foster ties among business actors and with the community in order to expand market reach,” said South Jakarta Mayor Syafrin Liputo in Jakarta on Friday.
He said the event serves as a promotional and marketing space for Dekranasda and MSME products in South Jakarta.
According to Syafrin, the product showcase is also part of efforts to encourage the public to recognise and take pride in using domestic products.
The event, held to enliven the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, involved 40 MSME actors consisting of 30 artisan members of Dekranasda and 10 Family Income Improvement Programme (UP2K) groups from ten sub-districts.
Syafrin noted that a variety of flagship products were displayed at the event, ranging from culinary items and handicrafts to various other creative products.
“I appreciate the enthusiasm of the business actors who took part in exhibiting their flagship products. This shows that the creativity of the community, especially Dekranasda members, continues to grow,” said Syafrin.
“Let us support local products. Every rupiah we spend here is a tangible form of support for the welfare of our own neighbours and relatives,” he added.
Meanwhile, Chairwoman of South Jakarta Dekranasda Azizah Syafrin said the MSME Product Showcase was enlivened with various activities over two days.
On the first day, the programme included an ‘Ibu Bisa’ gymnastics competition, a semur cooking competition, a jingle competition, a sambal creation competition, and a grinding competition.
“Tomorrow, there will be a fashion show competition involving Echelon II and III officials at the city level, a bazaar stall decoration competition, and a most enthusiastic supporters competition,” Azizah said.
In addition to the exhibition and competitions, she said, South Jakarta Dekranasda also provided assistance to 20 orphans representing the ten sub-districts.
She expressed hope that the event would have a positive impact on participants, particularly in improving marketing opportunities and the economy of MSME actors.
“Hopefully, this event will have a good impact, both in terms of participants’ economic outcomes and other aspects,” Azizah added.
