South Jakarta Court to Deliver Verdict on Roy Suryo's Second Pretrial Motion Today
The South Jakarta District Court is scheduled to read the verdict on the second pretrial motion filed by Roy Suryo on Monday afternoon. The motion concerns his suspect status in a case of alleged defamation and slander related to the authenticity of the diploma of the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. South Jakarta District Court spokesperson Halida Rahardhini confirmed that the verdict reading will commence at 1:00 PM WIB. The case, registered under number 108/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL, is presided over by a single judge, I Ketut Darpawan. In his petition, Roy Suryo requested the judge to annul the suspect designation issued against him by the Polda Metro Jaya. He argued that the determination of his suspect status under Article 32 paragraph (1) of the ITE Law was invalid and unlawful. He further contended that the investigation process and the naming of the suspect violated the Constitutional Court Decision Number 21/PUU-XII/2014 and Article 184 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code. The decision now rests with Judge I Ketut Darpawan to determine whether the legal process conducted by Polda Metro Jaya investigators was procedurally sound.
