JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The gate of the South Jakarta City Hall on Jalan Prapanca Raya, Kebayoran Baru, was damaged by demonstrators identifying themselves as students on Friday afternoon (6 March 2026). In their action, they argued that there are still several entertainment venues in South Jakarta that continued to operate during Ramadan 1447 Hijriah. ‘Yes, they (the demonstrators) damaged the gate,’ said Dirhamul Nugraha, Head of the South Jakarta Kesatuan Bangsa dan Politik (Kesbangpol), on Friday (7 March 2026), quoted from Wartakotalive.com. ‘We asked where the entertainment venues that are open so that we can take action.’ Dirhamul added that the demonstrators asked to meet the leadership of the South Jakarta City Administration on the coming Monday to convey their aspirations directly. ‘Yes, they asked to meet the leaders on Monday,’ he said. Before the vandalism occurred, several police had secured the location since the action began. After some time of speeches, the crowd eventually dispersed.
