South Jakarta City Government Provides Training for Lenteng Agung Terrace Traders
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The South Jakarta City Government (Pemkot Jaksel) is providing guidance to traders at the supervised trading location (lokbin) Teras Lenteng Agung (LA) in Jagakarsa through training and facilitation of business certification to support the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM). “They are trained in various areas, starting from strengthening their permits, then their certification,” said the Head of the South Jakarta Industrial, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Office (PPKUKM), Djaharuddin, when contacted in Jakarta on Friday. He stated that the existence of the lokbin is not only as a trading place but also as a learning platform for business actors to advance their operations. Therefore, according to him, traders need to be given various trainings to strengthen their business capacity. In addition, in transactions, all traders have also been using a digital payment system in the form of QRIS. Traders who do not yet have certification, he said, will be facilitated by the government, while long-standing traders partially already have the required documents. “Thus, the traders are expected to have complete business legality as well as the ability to improve their competitiveness and product quality,” said Djaharuddin. Meanwhile, the South Jakarta PPKUKM Office stated that the Teras LA Lokbin area has been fully occupied by 125 traders. Currently, all kiosks are filled and still in the early management phase after handover from the developer to the government. UMKM actors at Teras LA are also still subject to free rental fees because the retribution tariff is still being prepared by the relevant parties. The retribution is planned to be submitted to the traders after the assessment process is completed. The Sentra Fauna or Teras LA stands on a 7,500 square metre plot of land. From that area, around 2,000 square metres are allocated for traders who previously occupied Temporary Locations (Loksem) JS 25, JS 26, JS 30, and JS 96. The kiosks in the fauna centre are divided into three main zones, namely Zone A consisting of 22 culinary kiosks, Zones C and D with 74 kiosks for bird traders and animal feed, and Zone E for parcel and culinary traders with 29 kiosks. Meanwhile, Zone B is for an amphitheatre which is currently not yet operational.
