The South Jakarta City Administration, through its Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Sub-agency (Sudin Nakertransgi), has reminded companies not to engage in vigilante actions if workers are suspected of committing legal violations that cause losses between parties. “For companies, if legal violations occur against company property by workers, do not take the law into your own hands and entrust the legal process to the authorities,” said Head of the South Jakarta Sudin Nakertransgi, Syamwil, during a press conference regarding the confinement of a padel employee at the South Jakarta Metro Police on Thursday. He stated that the South Jakarta Sudin Nakertransgi, together with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency, has coordinated with the South Jakarta Police regarding the handling of the case at PT Pedal Padel Indonesia. His party has entrusted the case to be handled by the South Jakarta Metro Police. “Furthermore, regarding the criminal acts that occurred, we are handing over the handling to the South Jakarta Police,” said Syamwil. He stressed that the employment issues occurring at PT Pedal Padel Indonesia are still under investigation by the Labour Inspection Team of the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency. The arrests stemmed from a police report made by a woman with the initial M. The woman said her child, with the initial AL, had not returned home for two days. After two days, the child finally communicated and asked to be picked up. M stated that her child was an employee who had only been working for two months and was suspected of stealing a padel racket on 21 June 2026. However, the child was instead abused and confined by several other employees. Police who received the report immediately conducted a series of investigations and successfully detained four people as suspects.
