South Jakarta Administration Strengthens Stunting Prevention Through Pre-Marital Classes
The South Jakarta City Government is strengthening stunting prevention through a pre-marital class themed ‘Sehat Ceria Tanpa Stunting’ (Secanting) at the Mampang Prapatan Sub-district office. Mampang Prapatan Sub-district Head Angga stated that the knowledge gained can be applied in domestic life, including efforts to prevent children from experiencing growth disorders or stunting. The participants are prospective brides and grooms who will hold their weddings at the Mampang Prapatan Religious Affairs Office (KUA). The activity, which is also a corporate social responsibility programme of FIF Astra, provides participants with guidance on household relationships, reproductive health, and proper nutritional fulfilment. Angga urged the prospective couples to follow the entire educational and coaching process diligently. He noted that with experienced speakers, participants would gain the foundation to build a harmonious family and prepare a healthier generation. The programme is also expected to help couples prepare for a household life that is sakinah, mawaddah, and warahmah. One participant, Andro Niko, expressed enthusiasm for the Secanting class, saying the material was delivered well and was easy to understand. The South Jakarta City Government recorded a stunting rate of 14.9 percent in 2026 and is targeting a reduction to 11.34 percent by 2030. In 2025, the administration handled 794 stunting prevention and reduction cases through cross-government and community collaboration.
