South Jakarta Administration Says Pondok Indah Hospital's Functional Worthiness Certificate in Renewal Process
The South Jakarta City Government has stated that the Functional Worthiness Certificate for the Pondok Indah Hospital building is currently in the process of being renewed. The status of the certificate came under scrutiny after the DPRD DKI Jakarta revealed that a number of public service buildings were found to have certificates that were no longer valid.
Head of the South Jakarta Cipta Karya, Tata Ruang, dan Pertanahan Sub-department, Andy Lazuardy, said the certificate is not missing but rather its validity period expired in 2024 and it is being extended. “The SLF is in the process of being renewed,” Andy said when confirmed by reporters on Monday (8/6/2026).
Andy explained that the renewal of the SLF is a routine procedure because the certificate is only valid for five years and must be updated periodically to ensure buildings continue to meet safety and functional feasibility standards. According to him, the hospital has shown goodwill to fulfill all the administrative and technical requirements needed in the process of re-issuing the certificate. “The point is they have goodwill or good intentions to extend their SLF,” said Andy.
He stressed that there are no other issues regarding the legality of the hospital building. Currently, the management is only asked to complete several technical documents as part of the evaluation and verification stage. Andy mentioned that the SLF renewal process can be completed in a relatively short time if all documents are complete. “It is not difficult. The time is also not long. At most, one month and it’s finished,” he said.
The documents that must be completed include as-built drawings, architectural drawings, building structure documents, mechanical and electrical documents, a Fire Protection System Management Plan, a Fire Protection System Certificate of Completion, as well as occupational safety and health documents. Specifically for hospital buildings, there are additional requirements related to environmental aspects.
According to Andy, the complexity of the technical documents for hospital buildings means the process often involves consultants. “At Pondok Indah Hospital, it is usually medical teams handling this. So they need to partner with consultants to complete the requirements we ask for in the SLF criteria,” he said.
Previously, Member of Commission B of the DPRD DKI Jakarta, Jupiter, revealed that there are still several buildings whose SLF validity period has expired, including Pondok Indah Hospital. “Including Pondok Indah Hospital, it turns out its SLF is dead. Meaning it is now unlicensed. We ask universities, campuses, hospitals, including hotels, because hotels also concern public safety, overnight guests, and workers there, to ensure the building is still fit for use,” said Jupiter.
