The South Jakarta City Administration (Pemkot Jaksel) is encouraging job seekers to attend training at the Regional Job Training Centre (PPKD) to acquire relevant skills. “From the city administration, especially in workforce preparation, the training at PPKD can certainly be tailored to the needs of companies,” said South Jakarta Deputy Mayor Ali Murthadho in Jakarta on Wednesday. He stated that the training provided by the South Jakarta PPKD is up to date, particularly regarding digitalisation, which is highly needed at present. Furthermore, he added, there is also training in entrepreneurship so that participants gain the ability to open their own businesses independently from the programme. “We can actually direct them to create their own job opportunities through entrepreneurship,” said Ali. Therefore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government provides free job training at training centres spread across the five city areas. Training participants will later take a competency test to obtain a certificate from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). In addition, the government also operates a Mobile Training Unit (MTU) that provides training directly within communities. Currently, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is offering 3,299 job vacancies through the Phase I South Jakarta Career Fest and Bazaar 2026 Job Fair, held offline on 7-8 July at the Nyi Ageng Serang Building, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, and online via the karir.jakarta.go.id website from 30 June to 15 July 2026.
