Banda Aceh - The South Aceh Military District Command (Kodim 0107/Aceh Selatan), part of the Iskandar Muda Military Regional Command, has resumed the construction of eight Armco bridge units at various strategic points in the local area to open access to remote regions. “The construction of these Armco bridges represents a tangible expression of the Indonesian Army’s (TNI AD) concern for the needs of the community, particularly in providing safe and adequate inter-regional connectivity facilities,” said Commander of Kodim 0107/Aceh Selatan, Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Andrino D.N. Lubis, in a statement received on Tuesday. He explained that the programme also serves as an effort to overcome the isolation of remote villages, allowing residents to enjoy safer, more comfortable, and proper transportation access to support their daily activities. The construction sites for the Armco bridges are located in Kapa Seusak Village, Trumon Timur Subdistrict; Ujung Mangki Village, Bakongan Subdistrict; Kedai Runding Village, South Kluet Subdistrict; Pasi Limbang Village, East Kluet Subdistrict; Fajar City, North Kluet Subdistrict; two points in Panjupian Village, Tapaktuan Subdistrict; and Sialang Village, Samadua Subdistrict. “The presence of these bridges is very important for the community, supporting economic activities, education, agriculture, and the daily transportation needs of residents,” stated the District Commander. He added that the Armco bridge construction is part of the TNI AD’s commitment to remain present among the people through tangible works that directly benefit the public. The District Commander noted that the bridge construction programme is in line with the central government’s priority initiatives to improve community welfare through equitable infrastructure development reaching the most remote areas. He hopes that the construction of these eight Armco bridge units will open up transportation access and facilitate the mobility of local residents.
